The VP of Sales will drive continued customer growth across North America, acting as a point of contact for multiple customer sponsors and stakeholders. You’ll need to be acutely tuned-in to a wide range of needs across a diverse customer ecosystem, acting as a champion for our key customers internally and becoming the interface between external sponsors and our internal teams.

How you will spend your time

You’ll be the internal advocate for some of our largest customers, working closely with the US-based Head of Engineering Delivery to drive our internal teams to provide innovative solutions which satisfy a diverse range of needs and requirements.

You’ll need to be able to self-solve problems and identify new opportunities to add value both internally and externally. A keen eye for detail is also vital, as you’ll also be responsible for managing a variety of complex commercial agreements and contracts. The small details matter to our customers, and you’ll always be on top of them.

Due to the nature of this role, face-to-face customer contact is essential. We anticipate that you’ll need to travel approximately 30% of the time, both within North America and occasionally internationally.

What you will need to bring

Mandatory Skills

  • Experience as a VP of Sales within the Media, Broadband or Telecom sectors.
  • Proven network of relevant key business relationships in the Media Technology & Services, Broadband or Telecom sectors
  • Experience establishing and working with key business partnerships
  • Comfortable managing budgets, customer deadlines & financial KPIs on performance (orders, revenue, growth, profitability etc.)
  • Knowledge of technology development techniques and programme delivery methods (e.g., Agile)
  • A track record of building relationships with clients based on trust and respect

Desirable Tech Skills

  • Excellent data analysis and reporting skills (including Advanced Microsoft Excel and CRM tools, such as Salesforce)
  • Understanding of customer behaviours and industry trends in relevant sectors

How you will spend your time

In this role, you’ll build on your proven experience in software development and add in the ability to lead and inspire your team. You’ll still be in a hands-on technical role, working day-to-day in a Scrum team, but you’ll be the one your colleagues look to for support, to set their technical direction, help them out of sticky situations, and advise them on the right approach to a problem. Our clients will know you as the most dynamic member of the team (though not necessarily the most senior in years) and as someone, they can rely upon to answer their questions and explain difficult technical stuff in a down-to-earth way.

You’ll have excellent knowledge of software development. We mainly use C++ or Java, so experience with those is really helpful, but if you can show expertise in other languages, good theoretical knowledge and an ability to learn quickly we’d still love to hear from you.

We’re an entrepreneurial, customer-facing consultancy business, so our Technical Leads need to be passionate about innovation, communication, and leading by example in all that they do; consistently providing a first-class service to their team, the business and a wide variety of customer stakeholders.

You’ll generally be part of an established Agile (Scrum) team. While Scrum teams don’t officially have leaders, you’ll be able to use your experience to offer support and advice to other members of the team.

The work involves the delivery of a wide array of bespoke customer projects – you might be working on anything from the next generation of TV streaming boxes to a new embedded Internet-of-Things device that might sit at the heart of the home of the future.

This means you’ll need to be knowledgeable, approachable and adaptable; stepping in to assist proactively, wherever you see a potential bump in the road.

What you will need to bring

Mandatory Skills

  • Really strong, hands-on, software engineering experience
  • Great knowledge of modern software engineering techniques – such as object-oriented design, unit testing/test-driven development, CI/CD, use of code analysis tools
  • You are likely to have experience of developing in languages such as C++ or Java, but you’ll also be comfortable with the idea of learning new languages and technologies quickly
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams
  • Experience mentoring and supporting other engineers on your team. While this doesn’t need to be in a formal management/leadership capacity, you will be a “people person” and a very strong team player, and you’ll know how to encourage a team to achieve its technical goals and hit deadlines
  • A desire to grow your career – you’ll be the sort of person who is always up for a challenge, interested to learn new things and gain new experience
  • A flexible, can-do approach
  • Outstanding communication skills; you’ll be confident discussing technical matters with both technical and non-technical people

How you will spend your time

You will work in an agile environment reporting to a Group Lead or Project Manager and will have considerable exposure to our clients and other partners. You’ll be a key part of the planning, design, development, debugging and integration of embedded software modules for cutting edge broadcast and internet TV receivers (set-top boxes). You’ll create new features while also supporting the C++ debugging team, which will be around a 60/40 split of your time. Most importantly, your work will help deliver a much-needed service for society in lockdown – quick and easy access to some of the World’s best digital TV services.

What you will need to bring

  • Strong experience with C, C++ or Java in an embedded Linux or Android environment
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
