Fetch TV Successfully Launches Multiple New Applications Using Consult Red’s AndApps

Consult Red, a leading technology consultancy specialising in intelligent, connected devices, is pleased to announce that Australian home entertainment platform provider Fetch TV has successfully launched multiple new applications using the innovative AndApps™ solution, developed by Consult Red.

As a launch partner for AndApps, Fetch TV has demonstrated the transformative potential of this advanced platform.

Designed to streamline the deployment of new applications across digital entertainment services, AndApps enables providers to enhance their app offerings with limited development effort, greatly compressed timelines, and minimal end-user disruption.

Using a modular containerised architecture, AndApps runs entirely independently from the main device software image. This facilitates the integration, deployment and update of third-party apps with no impact on other installed applications and without the need to reboot the device. The AndApps-powered apps appear seamlessly alongside the other apps on the Fetch UI when selected by users. Fetch may choose to add additional or new apps as they become available.

The successful, simultaneous deployment of multiple applications by Fetch TV, using AndApps, showcases the efficiency and reliability of the AndApps solution. The additional apps are now available for download by Fetch customers with the new Mini G5 hardware, with the solution being extended to the Fetch G4 hardware in the coming months.

Alex Glass, Chief Product and Technology Officer, Fetch TV, said:
“The Fetch dev team collaborated with Consult Red on the AndApps implementation over a period of less than five months, during which we were able to prepare access to six applications. The ease and speed of implementation was unprecedented, allowing us to offer our customers a more diverse viewing experience on a greatly compressed timeline, with the additional benefit of there being no requirement for ongoing development and maintenance of the applications by Fetch.”

Stuart Griffin, CEO, Consult Red, said:
“We are delighted to partner with Fetch TV and see the successful launch of multiple applications on their service, powered by AndApps. This project demonstrates the innovation and technical excellence that Consult Red brings. Our AndApps platform empowers service providers like Fetch TV to enhance their offerings swiftly and efficiently while keeping them firmly in control of their service.”
