KTC and Consult Red Showcase Evolving AI Media Station powered by Qualcomm Dragonwing at CES 2026

Redefining AI-Enabled Media Interaction in the Smart Home, powered by the Qualcomm Dragonwing™ QCS8550 Processor

Shenzhen KTC Technology Co., Ltd., a smart display solutions provider, announced it is working with Consult Red to develop the AI Media Station (AMS)—a proof-of-concept family-grade smart media terminal powered by the Qualcomm Dragonwing™ QCS8550 processor. This innovative demonstration showcases how smart home entertainment can be redefined by combining cinematic-grade 4K playback, power-efficient on-device AI processing supporting large language models, and visual tracking algorithms.

Consult Red played a pivotal role in bringing the AI Media Station to life, from shaping media AI use cases to designing and developing new user experiences. This innovation will be showcased at CES 2026 in Las Vegas (6–9 January 2026), where attendees can experience the future of media and entertainment firsthand.

A Single Device That Understands the Family Home

Powered by the Dragonwing QCS8550 processor, the AMS demonstration enables new monetization opportunities on media devices, including targeted advertising and content recommendations driven by new face recognition capabilities. Device features include:

• Voice first UI: Reimagining content discovery through a voice-controlled UI, with contextual recommendations and conversational content exploration.
• Voice-enabled UI: A conversational AI assistant enhances traditional interfaces, offering accelerated assistance without replacing the remote control. Audio and SLM frameworks enable fast, local processing.
• New revenue opportunities: Enhanced experiences with AI-driven app control. Conversational voice commands unlock unique app propositions, including gaming, smart home and entertainment.
• App-enabled open software: Enabled and developed on the RDK-V open software platform with extended application support.
• Flutter UX: bespoke, high-performance Flutter user interface.

Voice recognition and AI processing are handled locally, eliminating cloud dependency and ensuring responsiveness and data security and privacy.
