Modern Slavery Statement
1. About this statement
This statement sets out the steps Consult Red Ltd (company number 06688270) has taken to understand and address the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in its business and supply chains, for the financial year ended 31 December 2025.
Consult Red is not currently required to publish a statement under Section 54 of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015. We choose to publish this statement voluntarily, reflecting our commitment to human rights and ethical business practice, and we have followed the reporting structure recommended under the Act.
2. Our organisation and supply chains
Consult Red is an employee-owned engineering and technology consultancy, providing product design, engineering and technology services to clients in sectors including media and broadband, industrial and manufacturing, and defence and aerospace.
We employ around 150 people globally, with offices in Shipley, UK (headquarters), Wrocław, Poland, and Daytona Beach, Florida, USA.
Our supply chain is relatively small and consists mainly of professional and technical services (including subcontracted and partner delivery resources), software and technology licensing, IT hardware and equipment, recruitment services, and office and facilities suppliers.
3. Our policies
Our Human Rights, Labour Standards and Modern Slavery Policy sets out our zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking in any part of our business or supply chain. It applies to employees, agency workers, seconded workers, volunteers, agents, contractors, interns, apprentices and suppliers, across every location in which we operate. We expect everyone working with us, or on our behalf, to uphold standards consistent with this policy.
This policy sits alongside our Employee Code of Conduct, Anti-Corruption Policy, Health & Safety Policy and Whistleblowing Policy, which together set the standards we expect across our business.
Under these policies, we:
- prohibit forced labour, bonded labour, involuntary prison labour, human trafficking, child exploitation, and any other form of coercion or exploitation;
- ensure employment at Consult Red is freely chosen, with employees free to leave in line with their contractual notice periods; and
- do not employ child labour, and comply with minimum working age requirements under local legislation and internationally recognised labour standards.
4. Our governance framework
Our approach is guided by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, the International Labour Organization Core Conventions, the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015, and applicable employment, equality, health and safety, and anti-discrimination legislation in each country in which we operate.
5. Due diligence and supplier standards
We seek to work with suppliers, contractors and delivery partners who share our commitment to ethical business practice. Where appropriate, this includes due diligence at the point of engagement, contractual compliance requirements, and ongoing review of supplier performance.
Where significant concerns are identified, we agree and monitor corrective actions with the supplier or partner involved. Where necessary, we will suspend or terminate the commercial relationship.
6. Assessing our risk
Given the skilled, salaried nature of our own workforce and the relatively small size and structure of our supply chain, we assess our direct exposure to modern slavery risk as low.
We pay closest attention to areas where risk is comparatively higher: contracted delivery partnerships in geographies with different labour-market risk profiles, and lower-tier suppliers of IT hardware and equipment. We keep this risk assessment under review as our business and supply chain evolve.
7. Training and raising awareness
We raise awareness of modern slavery risks and our expectations among relevant employees, including through onboarding and our published policies.
8. Speaking up
Anyone who has a concern about modern slavery, human trafficking, human rights abuses or unethical conduct is encouraged to speak up promptly. Concerns can be raised with a line manager, the HR team, a member of the Executive Team, or through our Whistleblowing Procedure.
Consult Red will not tolerate retaliation against anyone who raises a genuine concern in good faith, and all reported concerns will be investigated fairly.
9. Reviewing this statement
We review and update this statement annually, and sooner if there is a material change to our business, supply chains, or risk profile.
